Import Stock Adjustment

Asked by: o.frankowski 526 views Questions Back to Questions »

When importing negative stock adjustments in a CSV file their respective balances don’t update correctly. Total balance and free stock figures update correctly, however whereas the individual balance for negative stock adjustments would appear as 0 when adjusted in Opera, when imported it would appear as whatever the adjusted amount.

I have tried importing various values in the “ct_moved” field in the CSV file but to no avail.

Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

HI What are you using to import your file?

I’m using the import wizard in Opera II. All of the required stock transaction fields are being entered in the CSV file as well as a couple of extra ones like reference and comment. The one I’m having trouble with is “ct_moved” which is the quantity moved from receipt for FIFO items. When importing it simply ignores positive values entered here and fails to import them. Negative values aren’t ignored during import, but have no effect on the transaction whatsoever. I believe the “ct_moved” field has something to do with the balance figure in stock transactions.

It might be worth mentioning that this problem doesn’t manifest itself using the data send feature in XRL to update Opera with stock adjustments. However it doesn’t allow you to update the comment field which, annoyingly, is required.

Hi I think you would find that XL Reports/ Data Manager will do what you require (including the comment field) with out having to resorting to importing csv files. It is free to download and use with company Z (demo data)
